Is there any better feeling than getting home after a solid weekend of four-wheel driving? We don’t think there is. You’re probably still running the high from the weekend adventure and are excited to finally put your feet up. Well, surprise, you have to clean off your car if you want to keep it protected in the long run. But, we have some tricks that make clean-up easy, no matter how muddy your ride was.
INOX Makes Cleaning Your Car Easy
At INOX, we produce top-shelf lubricants that will help protect your car from rust, deterioration while also keeping your vehicle running smoother than ever. Adventure sports athletes, off-road drivers and explorers commonly use our products to protect their precious gear in the most extreme conditions.
In this blog, we’re breaking down how to use our products to ensure the best protection for your 4WD and how they can be used during clean-up.
Spray LANOX MX4 On The Underbody Before You Go
We’re all guilty of spending more time cleaning the car’s body instead of getting under it with a hose. After a long day of playing in the mud and sand, all of that stuff gets stuck in the underbody. The worst part is it blasts up into the chassis rails, under bash plates and even into the suspension. Once it’s there, it’s there to stay for a long time.
If you’ve coated the underside of your 4WD before you took off with LANOX MX4, then clean up is as easy as hosing off the bottom of your vehicle once you get home. Our multi-purpose lubricants make it hard for dirt, oil or mud to stick onto surfaces, so with a quick wash, you’ll be free of the beach or track.
If you didn’t protect your rig before you left, fear not because it can help afterwards as well. INOX MX3 and LANOX MX4 help displace water and grime. So once you’ve cleaned the underbody of your vehicle, a generous coating of either lubricant will force out any pesky grime that could still be hiding. Quick tip: LANOX MX4 needs ¾ days to dry, before leaving for your next adventure.
Degrease The Whole Car With INOX MX11
Before you touch a hose, use our special degreaser INOX MX11 on any vital areas. We always make sure to get into the hubs, suspension and diffs to draw out any dirt or oils. Also, spray your wheels, and pop the bonnet to give everything in the engine bay a solid coat. Let that soak in for a few minutes.
Once that’s done, even the most stubborn dirt spots should slip right off with a good hose. We recommend using a high-pressure hose or Gerni afterwards to give it a good clean. Go ahead and clean the outside of your car at this stage and use your standard soaps and protective coatings on all painted areas. We don’t recommend using INOX on painted surfaces, so save our products for the tougher parts of your car.
Buff Out And Give Bull Bars A Good Polish
LANOX MX4 will give any stubborn mud stains on the boot. Even after driving through the harshest conditions, spraying LANOX on exposed metal surfaces will ensure mud slips right off it. You can spray either before your trip for the best protection or after to break down the really stubborn spots. This product is fantastic because it can also polish stainless steel parts and protect them in the long run. Use it for your bull bars, trailer hitches, roof racks, ute trays and anything else.
Wait ‘Till It Dries, And Protect With LANOX
Once your car is looking spiffy, it’s time to make sure it’s protected for next time. Go in with your chosen LANOX or INOX product and spray the entire underside of your off-roader (make sure to pay extra attention to your wheel arches and other places mud can get trapped). Also, if you haven’t already, go in and spray in your engine bay. That way, clean-up next time won’t be as hard.

There you have it, the perfect way to clean your 4WD after a big sesh off-road. Now, we recommend doing this at least once every six months as long as you’re hosing away all the dirt each trip. Though for best results, do so every 2-3 months. For beach driving, it’s best to try and do this after every trip, or at least every second trip, since saltwater can ruin the insides of your vehicle if it is not treated correctly.
